Terms

The agreement, in plain language.

These Terms govern your agreement with Cindy M Gerard, trading as CareStori, and explain how billing and payments are handled.

Effective August 18, 2026

Who you're contracting with

CareStori is owned and operated by Cindy M Gerard, trading as CareStori ("CareStori", "we", "us"). When you create an account or subscribe, you are entering into an agreement with Cindy M Gerard.

By creating an account or continuing to use the service, you accept these terms. You must be of legal age to enter into a contract, and if you are using CareStori on behalf of an organization, you confirm you have authority to bind it.

CareStori grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service within your chosen plan. We retain ownership of the service and all intellectual property in it, including software, design, and branding. You may not reverse engineer, resell, or redistribute the service, or circumvent its technical limits.

Your account

You are responsible for the information you add to CareStori, for keeping your sign-in details secure, and for deciding who you invite.

Invited family members, friends, and caregivers receive their own access. The account owner controls what each person may see or contribute and can change or remove that access at any time.

Do not share your own CareStori login with another person.

Acceptable use

CareStori is intended for private care coordination and family connection.

Information, Care Moments, photos, care notes, and other private content should only be used for the care and support of the person whose CareStori it belongs to.

Users may not misuse CareStori, attempt to access information they are not authorized to see, impersonate another person, interfere with the service, or knowingly upload unlawful or harmful content.

People who receive access should respect the privacy of the person receiving care and should not republish or distribute private CareStori content outside the authorized care circle without appropriate permission.

Sharing and caregiver access

The account owner decides who may access a CareStori and what each invited person may do.

Some people may only be able to view shared updates. Others may be allowed to contribute Care Moments, photos, or care notes.

Temporary caregiver access may begin and end according to the Care Schedule or other access settings established by the account owner or organizer.

Access may be changed or revoked at any time.

Not medical advice

CareStori is a communication and care-coordination tool.

It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, or emergency services, and it is not a substitute for clinical records, professional medical judgment, or instructions from a licensed healthcare provider.

Do not rely on CareStori for emergency communication.

In an emergency, contact your local emergency services.

Billing and cancellation

CareStori is offered as a recurring subscription at:

  • $5.99 per month
  • $49.99 per year

The subscription covers up to two CareStori profiles and allows you to invite family, friends, and caregivers at no additional per-person charge.

Your subscription renews automatically at the selected interval unless you cancel it.

You may cancel at any time. Cancellation stops future renewal charges, and paid access continues through the end of the current billing period unless otherwise stated at checkout.

Subscriptions are sold by Cindy M Gerard, trading as CareStori. Our order process, payment collection, tax calculation, invoicing, and refunds are handled on our behalf by our payment provider, Stripe, which acts as merchant of record for our orders. Your card statement may show a Link/Stripe descriptor alongside CareStori. Payment terms presented at checkout apply in addition to these Terms.

Refunds

We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee. Full details, including how to request a refund, are in our Refund Policy.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to CareStori, in whole or in part, if you materially breach these terms, fail to pay for your subscription, create a security or fraud risk, or repeatedly or seriously violate our acceptable use rules. Where practical we will give you notice and an opportunity to fix the problem first.

You may stop using CareStori and close your account at any time. When access ends, you will have a reasonable window to export your content before it is deleted in line with our Privacy Notice.

Your content

You keep ownership of the information, photos, and other content you add to CareStori.

By using CareStori, you give the service permission to store, process, display, and transmit that content only as needed to operate the features you choose, including sharing it with people you authorize.

You are responsible for having the right to upload or share the content you add. You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from your content, your unlawful use of the service, or your breach of these terms.

Service availability and liability

We work to keep CareStori available and reliable, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service.

CareStori should not be used as the only place to store information that is essential for urgent care or safety.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or special damages, including lost profits, data, or goodwill, and our total liability is limited to the fees you paid in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability for fraud, death, or personal injury where the law does not allow it.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, United States, and the courts located there have exclusive jurisdiction, without affecting any mandatory consumer rights in your country of residence. We may assign these terms as part of a merger or sale of the business; you may not assign them without our consent. Neither party is responsible for delays caused by events beyond its reasonable control.

Changes to these terms

If we make a material change to these terms, we will provide notice to account holders before the change takes effect when reasonably required.

Continued use of CareStori after updated terms take effect means you accept the revised terms.
