Copyright & DMCA Policy
CareStori respects copyright. If you believe content stored in CareStori infringes your rights, tell us and we will act.
What this covers
CareStori is a private care-coordination service. Photos, notes, and Care Moments are uploaded by account owners and the people they invite, and are visible only inside that private care circle — they are not published to the public web.
You are responsible for having the right to upload and share the content you add, as described in our Terms.
Reporting infringement
If you own a copyright (or are authorized to act for the owner) and believe material in CareStori was used without permission, send a written notice to our designated agent:
Cindy M Gerard, trading as CareStori
Email: hello@mycarestori.com
Subject line: DMCA Notice
What a valid notice must include
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the copyrighted work you say was infringed.
- Identification of the material you want removed, with enough detail for us to locate it (account email, profile name, date, and a description of the photo or text).
- Your name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorized to act on the owner's behalf.
Incomplete notices may delay our response. Knowingly making a material misrepresentation can expose you to liability for damages under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f).
What we do next
We aim to acknowledge complete notices within 5 business days. If a notice is valid, we will remove or disable access to the material and notify the account owner who uploaded it, including a copy of the notice.
Because CareStori content is private, we only disclose what is necessary to handle the claim.
Counter-notice
If your content was removed and you believe that was a mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notice to the same address. It must include your signature, identification of the removed material and where it appeared, your contact details, a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the removal was a mistake, and your consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for your district (or, if you are outside the United States, the Northern District of Illinois).
If we receive a valid counter-notice, we may restore the material in 10–14 business days unless the original complainant notifies us that they have filed a court action.
Repeat infringers
Accounts that repeatedly infringe copyright may be suspended or terminated, as described in our Terms.
