Getting Started
How do I create a CareStori?
After creating your account, follow the setup steps to create a CareStori profile for the person you are supporting.
You can add the everyday details, preferences, routines, and care information that help others understand what matters to them.
How do I invite family, friends, or caregivers?
Open Family & Caregivers and choose Invite Someone.
Each invited person receives their own CareStori access. You decide what they can see and whether they can contribute.
Inviting family, friends, and caregivers does not add a per-person charge to your CareStori subscription.
How do I share an update?
People who have permission to contribute can add a Care Moment with a photo or update.
Care Moments appear in the private Updates timeline for the people who have permission to see them.
Sharing and access
Do caregivers need an account?
Yes. Each invited family member, friend, or caregiver uses their own CareStori access.
This helps protect private information and makes it clear who shared an update, photo, or care note.
The account owner sends the invitation, and the invited person signs in or creates their CareStori access.
Can I invite someone just to see updates?
Yes.
Someone can be invited to stay informed without being given permission to add Care Moments or care notes.
The account owner decides what each person can see and contribute.
What can family members see?
The account owner controls family access.
Approved family and friends may be allowed to see:
- Shared updates
- Care Moments
- Photos
- Family-visible information
- The Care Schedule, if the owner chooses to share it
More private care information can remain limited to the account owner and authorized caregivers.
Can family members see private care notes?
Not automatically.
Private care notes and more sensitive care information can be limited to the account owner and authorized caregivers.
Family viewing access does not automatically mean access to every private care detail.
Can I change someone's permissions later?
Yes.
The account owner can change what a person can see or contribute at any time.
Someone can remain a family viewer while their posting or care-note permissions are removed.
How do I change or remove someone's access?
Open Family & Caregivers.
From there, the account owner can:
- Change what someone can see
- Change what they can contribute
- End temporary caregiver access
- Remove the person from the CareStori
Access changes take effect immediately.
What happens if I invite the wrong person?
If an invitation has not been accepted, the account owner can cancel it from Family & Caregivers.
If the person has already joined, the owner can remove their access from Family & Caregivers.
Caregiving and scheduling
What if a family member is helping with care for the day?
A family member can normally stay connected with viewing access and be given temporary caregiver permissions when they are helping with care.
The account owner or organizer can use Caring Today or the Care Schedule to give them temporary permission to share Care Moments, photos, or care notes.
What is the Care Schedule?
The Care Schedule shows who is helping with care and when.
The account owner or organizer can schedule care in advance or use Caring Today for an unexpected caregiving day.
If the account owner chooses, approved family members can also see a simplified view of who is caring today and upcoming care.
What happens when a caregiver's scheduled time ends?
Temporary caregiver permissions connected to that scheduled care time end automatically.
If the person also has regular family viewing access, that access remains in place.
Can more than one person help with care at the same time?
Yes.
CareStori allows more than one person to be caring at the same time.
Each person uses their own CareStori access, and their updates remain connected to their individual identity.
Is CareStori for professional caregivers too?
Yes.
CareStori can be shared with family members, friends, and professional caregivers.
The account owner controls each person's access individually.
Care Moments and updates
Where do Care Moments go?
Care Moments appear in the private CareStori Updates timeline for the people who have permission to see them.
They can include photos and everyday updates that help family stay connected to how the day is going.
Care Moments are not posted publicly.
Can I remove a Care Moment after it is posted?
The account owner can remove a Care Moment from the private Updates timeline if something was posted by mistake or needs to be taken down.
The in-app camera captures the photo inside CareStori and is not saved to the caregiver's personal photo library.
Profiles and subscription
How many people can I create a CareStori for?
Two CareStori profiles are included in the plan.
You can switch between them from inside your account.
Family, friends, and caregivers can be invited at no additional per-person charge.
How do I cancel?
You can cancel your CareStori subscription from Settings at any time.
Cancellation stops future renewals, and your paid access continues through the end of the current billing period.
See Pricing for current plan details.
Safety and purpose
Is CareStori a medical record?
No.
CareStori is a communication and care-coordination tool. It is not a medical record and is not a substitute for medical advice, professional judgment, or emergency communication.
In an emergency, contact local emergency services.
